Naberezhnaya Street in Izluchinsk — the settlement's pedestrian zone
Naberezhnaya Street is one of the central thoroughfares of the urban-type settlement of Izluchinsk in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. It stretches along the Vakh River and essentially follows its curves, forming the coastal part of the settlement. The embankment has long been a magnet for locals: young people, parents with children, and elderly couples all come here. In the evening, the street fills with people who prefer leisurely walks along the water.
The Okunevka River embankment is the settlement's key landmark and a popular spot for young people to stroll. It is here that the social life of Izluchinsk is concentrated — from playgrounds to temples and pedestrian bridges.
History of the embankment: from industrial zone to public space
Previously, the Okunevka embankment area served a primarily utilitarian function — a pedestrian bridge connected the settlement to the industrial zone. Residents used this part of the street as a transit route rather than a place for recreation.
The situation changed in the summer of 2022, when a large-scale reconstruction of the embankment took place as part of the United Russia party's people's program — the "Development Map of Yugra." The length of the renovated embankment reached 790 meters, and the total area of the reconstructed territory amounted to 16 thousand square meters. New pathways were laid, benches were installed, and rest areas and playgrounds were organized.
Children's playground at Naberezhnaya, 22 — a modern play complex
At 22 Naberezhnaya Street, there is a fenced children's playground with a sand surface. The idea of creating a modern multifunctional space belongs to the residents of the settlement — they were the initiators of the leisure infrastructure upgrade.
During the reconstruction, old metal structures were replaced with slides, swings, and carousels made from modern, safe materials. Playhouses, small architectural forms, and parent rest areas appeared. The playground area is fenced, ensuring the safety of young visitors.
An asphalt parking lot is located next to the play area — convenient for parents who bring their children by car. The walkways and sidewalks are paved with tiles, making movement comfortable in any weather.

The embankment in winter and summer — how the location changes
In the summer months, the Okunevka embankment turns into a green recreation area: trees are covered in foliage, the grass is trimmed, and the playground is filled with the voices of little ones. The river is calm at this time, and its banks are used for picnics and walks.
In winter, the landscape changes: snow cover blankets the paths and play structures, the river freezes, and the embankment takes on a quiet, contemplative character. The playground is used for snow games and sledding during the winter season.
Weather on the Izluchinsk embankment
The climate of Izluchinsk is continental, with a long, cold winter and a short, warm summer. The average January temperature drops to minus 20–25 °C, while in July it rises to plus 18–20 °C.
