A Hero's Name: The Boulevard's History

The boulevard is named after Mikhail Mikhailovich Kuzmin — Hero of the Soviet Union, artilleryman, born on March 5, 1918, in the village of Larionovka in what is now the Znamensky District of Omsk Oblast. A memorial appeared here in 2015, and in October 2023, an informational plaque was installed as part of the project "Heroes Live as Long as They Are Remembered," with the participation of the hero's son, V.M. Kuzmin. Thus, the boulevard became not just a transportation artery but also a place of remembrance.

Kuzminki Microdistrict: Scale of Construction

The fifth microdistrict, or Kuzminki, occupies the territory between Kuzmina Boulevard, Tupolev Street, Krupskaya Street, and Vzletnaya Street. This is an active development zone: the residential complex is being built on 15 hectares, with monolithic brick buildings reaching 24 stories. The red brick facades echo the traditions of Omsk architecture, creating visual continuity with the city's historic buildings.

Architects Boulevard: Stalin-Era Framework

Architects Boulevard, which crosses this territory, is a historic thoroughfare with low-rise Stalin-era buildings from the 1950s–1960s, forming the framework of the city. Unlike Novosibirsk or Krasnoyarsk, Omsk saw almost no mass grandiose "Stalinist" construction — only individual projects have survived. Today, Architects Boulevard serves as a bridge between old and new Omsk, and the webcam at the intersection with Krupskaya Street captures this transformation.

Chemical and Technological Lyceum: Education of the Future

By September 1, 2025, the Chemical and Technological Lyceum "Avangard" will open in Kuzminki — a project of the national "Education" initiative, built under a concession agreement with the microdistrict's developer. Initially, the opening was planned for 2024, but the deadline was pushed to 2025. Interactive whiteboards, digital laboratories, machine tools, and sewing machines for labor classes have already been installed in the buildings — the lyceum will become a new educational cluster for the entire Kirovsky District.
