The twenty-five drops of oil symbolize the company's quarter-century anniversary and the labor achievements of Western Siberian oil workers. Each drop represents both a bead of workers' sweat, a drop of black gold, and a symbol of the unity of people who built a city in the taiga.

The monument is located at the intersection of Druzhby Narodov and Stepan Povkh streets, underscoring its central importance to the city. The sculptural group at the base of the obelisk adds a human dimension to the monument — it is not just an abstract symbol, but a tribute to specific people.
