Kopeysk is a city with a proud mining past, and its main artery — Prospekt Pobedy — reflects the character of this industrial center in the Chelyabinsk Region. The avenue's name speaks for itself: it is named in honor of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and serves as the symbolic and factual backbone of the city, carrying the main traffic in and out. Goltca Street: From a Revolutionary to a Legendary Cheburechnaya

The intersection of Prospekt Pobedy and Goltca Street is a place where pre-revolutionary history, Soviet avant-garde, and unique city folklore intertwine. The street is named after Leopold Fridrikhovich Goltc (1872–1935) — a Polish underground revolutionary, a CPSU member since 1917, a participant in the Civil War in the Urals and Siberia, and later a miner who worked at Chelyabinsk coal mines. In his honor, a bust was installed on the Alley of Civil War Heroes in 1981, and a memorial plaque is mounted on building No. 25 on Prospekt Pobedy.

However, for ordinary Kopeysk residents, Goltca Street was associated not so much with a revolutionary as with a gastronomic legend. In January 1969, the city's first specialized cheburek café opened on Prospekt Pobedy — a glass and concrete pavilion opposite a vegetable shop at 27A Prospekt Pobedy. The establishment became so iconic that the public transport stop is still called «Cheburechnaya» in its honor, and in the late 1980s — early 1990s, a video rental salon even operated there. The venue no longer functions today, but in the memory of residents it remains a symbol of an era.

Near the Intersection: Landmarks and Points of Interest

The area around the intersection of Prospekt Pobedy and Goltca Street is filled with important city landmarks. Within walking distance is Kopeysk's central square — Krasnykh Partizan Square, whose formation began as early as 1949 according to the master plan of the Lengiprogor institute. Here stand the tribune-monument to V.I. Lenin, a fountain, and behind it the Fallen Heroes Park with a monument to the Red Guard miners in the form of a truncated pyramid on a stylobate.

Goltca Street also preserves the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Near School No. 42, a monument to Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was erected in 1964 — a work by the renowned sculptor E.V. Vuchetich and architect M.G. Semionov, which became an object of monumental art. And on Prospekt Pobedy near the bus station, there is a park with a monument «To All Miners and Mine Rescuers Who Perished Throughout the Existence of the Chelyabinsk Coal Basin», unveiled in 1997.
