1 camerasCity History from Village to Capital of Kindness
Dobryanka is a city with a four-century history that began as a small taiga village. The first mention of Dobryanka dates back to 1623, when a scribe book recorded a settlement with eleven households on the banks of the Kama River at the mouth of the Dobryanka River. The city's name clearly reads as "добро" (goodness), and since 2012 local authorities have been developing the brand "Dobryanka — Capital of Kindness," emphasizing the hospitality and coziness of this Ural city.
The path from a village to a major metallurgical center of the Urals was long. In the 18th century, the first factories began operating here, and Dobryanka received city status in 1943. The construction of the Kama Hydroelectric Power Station in the 1950s led to the flooding of the old part of the city — the Kama lowlands turned into a vast reservoir. Today, Dobryanka's population is 28,782 people according to 2021 data, and it is one of those small cities of Perm Krai that are remembered for their atmosphere.
Architectural Dominants and Monuments
Although the historic center partially went underwater, valuable architectural objects have been preserved in Dobryanka. The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1852 and remains one of the main spiritual and architectural dominants of the city. On Sovetskaya Street stands the house of merchant Varlashov — a two-story brick building from 1903, where the first floor housed commercial premises and the second floor was residential.
Gertsena and Pobedy Streets are the modern arteries of the city where public life is concentrated. It is here that one can observe the daily life of Dobryanka by watching webcams in real time. The city is actively being improved while maintaining its historical identity.
Kama Reservoir and Coastal Areas
The Kama Reservoir is the hallmark of modern Dobryanka. After the construction of the Kama Hydroelectric Power Station, the vast water area became part of the city's landscape, and the Zadobryanka microdistrict is located on the picturesque shore. The opposite shore of the bay is visible from many points in the city, creating a feeling of spaciousness and freedom.
In the summer months, the reservoir is filled with motorboats and yachts, and in winter it turns into an endless snowy expanse. Webcams on the embankment allow you to observe weather changes and water conditions in real time. Polazna — the nearest settlement on the opposite shore — also falls into the frame of some cameras.
Wakepark and Modern Facilities
One of the most modern facilities in Dobryanka is the wakepark on the shore of Dobryanka Bay in the Komarovo microdistrict. This is a gathering place for water sports enthusiasts, where cable attractions are installed, including the reverse "Vertigo." The webcam at the first platform of the wakepark broadcasts not only rider performances but also a panorama of the entire bay with the houses of the Zadobryanka microdistrict.
The "Dobryanka" wakepark operates around the clock, and its camera is available for free without registration. This is a great opportunity to see the city from an unusual angle — from the water, observing the movement of motorboats and athletes preparing for performances. Vozhaevskaya, Tolstogo, and Podgornaya Streets also fall into the frame.
City Districts and Streets
Dobryanka is a compact city where all districts are within walking distance of each other. Zhukovskaya Street is one of the central thoroughfares where shops and public transport stops are located. The PTZ camera at the "Pyaterochka" store shows the perspective of the entire street up to the intersection with Gertsena Street, and also allows zooming in on house No. 45 on Gertsena Street.
Pobedy Street is another important transport artery. The camera at house No. 27 operates around the clock and has already gained more than 20 thousand views since installation. It offers a view of residential quarters and adjacent territories. The city center retains its Soviet layout but is gradually being updated thanks to improvement programs.
What the Cameras Show
More than 13 surveillance cameras are installed in Dobryanka, information about the location of which is freely available on the Security Center website. The schematic map includes satellite photos, a hybrid option, and a folk map, allowing you to choose the desired angle.
