Sapronovo Village: From an Ancient Settlement to a Modern Neighborhood

Sapronovo village is located in the Leninsky Urban Okrug of Moscow Oblast, just two kilometers southeast of the center of Vidnoye. A century and a half ago, this was a modest hamlet — in 1899, it had a population of about 150 residents, and few could have imagined that this place would become one of the most ambitious mass housing projects in the Moscow region.

Until 2006, Sapronovo was part of the Gorkinsky Rural Okrug, and later it was incorporated into the urban settlement of Gorki Leninskiye. Today, it is no longer just a village — it is the rapidly developing Kupelinka neighborhood, where modern residential complexes with their own infrastructure are rising.

Eco Vidnoye 2.0 Residential Complex: Architecture and Concept

Eco Vidnoye 2.0 is a large-scale project on the picturesque banks of the Kupelinka River, surrounded by a forest park zone. The complex's architecture was designed by the renowned ADM bureau. The complex consists of 5-6 buildings of varying height, from 10 to 17 stories. The facades are clad in brightly colored German ABC clinker tiles, giving the complex a modern and distinctive appearance.

The central building stands out with its characteristic facade featuring a geometric pattern of brown and light elements forming a diamond-shaped motif. The buildings are constructed using brick-and-monolithic technology with a monolithic frame, and are equipped with air conditioning unit enclosures on the facades. The terrain elevation difference allowed the building volumes to be arranged so that the development descends toward the embankment, offering views of the Kupelinka River for some apartments.

One of the project's key architectural highlights is the large window in the bathroom, as well as a closed parking garage with 1,000 spaces, which solves the parking problem for residents of the complex.

Kupelinka Neighborhood: A New Chapter for the Village

Since 2015, the territory of Sapronovo village has been actively developed with mass housing projects. The Kupelinka neighborhood is taking shape, encompassing residential complexes including Severny Quarter, Eco Vidnoye 2.0, and other developments. This is a fully-fledged residential area with its own infrastructure, roads, and landscaping.

To the west of the village runs the M4 "Don" highway, known along this stretch as Kashira Highway, providing convenient transport access to Moscow. The distance to the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) is about 15 kilometers, making the location attractive for those who work in the capital but prefer to live in a more environmentally friendly area.

The Kupelinka River and the Ecological Zone

Eco Vidnoye 2.0 is located on the banks of the Kupelinka River, which inspired its "eco" name. However, in recent years, the river and Pugovichinsky Pond have become shallower, drawing the attention of environmentalists. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Management of Moscow Oblast is carrying out restoration work on Pugovichinsky Pond and the dam on the Kupelinka River.

Half of the improvement work on the embankment along the Kupelinka River and Pugovichinsky Pond near Sapronovo village has been completed. The work is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2026. This means that in the near future, the area around the complex will become even more attractive for walks and recreation.

How to Get to Sapronovo

Sapronovo village is located in the Leninsky Urban Okrug of Moscow Oblast, approximately 2 km southeast of the center of Vidnoye. There are several ways to get there:

By car — take Kashira Highway (M4 "Don") to the turnoff for Vidnoye, then follow local roads to Sapronovo. The drive from MKAD takes about 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.

By public transport — buses from Vidnoye and Moscow. The Kupelinka railway platform is located nearby, providing connections to Moscow.
