Isuledda Beach in San Teodoro — Online Webcam Stream
Isuledda Beach — the jewel of northeastern Sardinia
On the northeastern coast of the Italian island of Sardinia, a few kilometers from the resort town of San Teodoro, stretches one of the most picturesque beaches — Isuledda, about 500 meters long. This place is often called the "little Maldives" for its turquoise water and snow-white fine sand. The beach is surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation — juniper groves and maquis thickets that give the coast an unmistakable aroma.
Unlike the more famous neighboring beaches of La Cinta and Lu Impostu, Isuledda maintains a more cozy and relaxed atmosphere. There are no large hotels right at the water's edge, so the shoreline looks natural and is not overloaded with infrastructure. The gentle entry into the water makes the beach convenient for families with children, while the constant wind attracts windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts.
Geographical location and coastal features
San Teodoro is located 20 kilometers from Olbia — the main transport hub of northeastern Sardinia with an international airport and ferry crossing. You can reach Isuledda Beach via the provincial road SP towards Ottiolu, then along a dirt road to the parking area. The parking lot is about a three-minute walk along a steep trail — this is worth considering when planning your visit.
The Isuledda coastline faces northeast, providing good lighting in the morning hours and soft sunset tones in the evening. The sand here is fine, golden-white in hue, with an admixture of shell fragments. The seabed is sandy, with no sharp depth changes near the shore. In the right part of the beach, there are patches of seagrass — a typical feature of this stretch of coast, especially noticeable at the end of the summer season.
Tavolara Island — visible from the shore
The main landmark of these places is Tavolara Island, which dominates the horizon of Sardinia's northeastern coast. It is a limestone massif 5 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide, with steep rocky cliffs except for the narrow ends. The highest point of the island — Mount Cannone — reaches 565 meters above sea level.
In ancient times, Tavolara was known as Hermea. According to legend, it was here in 235 AD that Pope Pontian died, exiled to the island. In the Middle Ages, the island was used by Arabs as a base for raids on the coast — in 848–849 it is mentioned as Tolar. Today, Tavolara is part of a marine reserve and is accessible by boat from the ports of Olbia, San Teodoro, and Porto San Paolo.
Beach infrastructure and recreation
Isuledda Beach is equipped for comfortable recreation: rows of beach umbrellas and sunbeds are set up along the shoreline, available for daily rental. There is a small kiosk with drinks and light snacks — convenient for those spending the whole day at the beach. During the high season, lifeguards are on duty, adding safety for vacationers.
The wind conditions along the coast make Isuledda a popular spot among water sports enthusiasts. Morning hours are usually calmer, and after noon a steady breeze picks up, ideal for windsurfing. Local schools with instructors operate for beginners. Families with children prefer the left side of the beach, where the wind is weaker and the entry into the water is more gradual.
Origin of the name and local features
The name "Isuledda" translates from the Sardinian dialect as "little island" — it is a diminutive form of "isula." Indeed, from the shore, there is a view of small rocky islets, and in clear weather, the silhouette of Tavolara is clearly visible. The resort area includes several beaches, and Isuledda is considered one of the most authentic — the natural environment has been preserved here without mass development.
San Teodoro is not only beaches but also a rich local culture. The town has Sardinian cuisine restaurants, shops with local products, and souvenir stalls. In the evening, the promenade turns into a pedestrian area with live music and the atmosphere of a Mediterranean resort. From here, it is convenient to take day trips to other famous beaches — Brandinchi, Cala Gherghe, and Porto Taverna.
What the camera shows
The online camera is installed on the territory of the Persó bar and is directed towards Isuledda Beach. In the frame is a sandy shoreline with dense rows of beach umbrellas and sunbeds set up along the water's edge. In the foreground, a small pavilion is visible — this is a beach kiosk where you can buy refreshing drinks. The sea stretches to the horizon, where in the right part of the frame the outlines of Tavolara Island can be discerned. In the water — swimmers, on the horizon — ship wakes heading towards the port of Olbia. The sky is usually clear, and sunlight creates glares on the water in the afternoon hours.
This webcam in real time allows you to assess the beach occupancy, weather conditions, and sea state before your trip. On windy days, characteristic waves appear on the water, attracting surfers. In calm weather, the sea surface becomes mirror-like, reflecting the rocky shores of Tavolara.
