Petelino Village in Yalutorovsk District — Online Webcam
Petelino is a quiet rural settlement in the Yalutorovsk District of Tyumen Oblast, where life flows measured and calm. The Petelino webcam opens a view of a road intersection where the paths of local residents cross, and in the foreground stands a two-story yellow house with a blue roof — a distinctive landmark of the area. The live broadcast allows you to observe rural life in real time, without embellishments or tourist facades.
Village History from the 17th Century to the Present Day
Petelino is one of the oldest villages in the Yalutorovsk District. The first documented mentions of the village of Petelina appear in the description of the Tobolsk Viceroyalty from the mid-17th century. Initially, there were several separate settlements in this area, which later merged into one. The village was formed by the merger of three settlements: Mys, Petelino, and Odina — according to some sources, Kozhenovo also joined them.
In 1920, the «Path to Socialism» commune was established in Petelino — a characteristic agricultural cooperative of that era. Since then, the village has gone through collectivization, post-war recovery, and the collapse of the Soviet system, while preserving its rural identity.
Geography and Nature
Petelino is located on the banks of the Tobol River — one of the main tributaries of the Irtysh, which has shaped the lives of local residents for centuries. The village lies 20 kilometers from the district center — the town of Yalutorovsk, and just three kilometers from the federal highway Yalutorovsk-Yarkovo. This makes Petelino relatively accessible by transport, despite its rural status.
The surroundings of the village are typical of the West Siberian Plain: open grassy spaces interspersed with coniferous and deciduous trees. The Tobol River creates its own microclimate, and its banks serve as a recreation spot for residents. In the background of the webcam, you can see these natural landscapes — trees, utility poles with wires, and the outlines of other residential houses.
Infrastructure and Social Life
Despite its modest size, Petelino is the administrative center of the Petelino Rural Settlement and has the necessary infrastructure. As of 2014, the village had 207 households and 639 residents. It has a feldsher-midwife station, a secondary school, a kindergarten, a library, and a community center — a typical set for a large rural settlement in Tyumen Oblast.
The architectural dominant of the village is the Church of Vladimir the Equal-to-the-Apostles at 7 Sverdlova Street. The Orthodox church has become not only a place of prayer but also a spiritual center for local residents, many of whom continue to observe the traditions of their ancestors.
The Tobol River and Its Significance for the Village
The Tobol is not just a geographic feature on the map, but a living artery nourishing the land and its people. For Petelino, the river has historically served as a source of water, a fishing spot, and a transportation route. Today, the banks of the Tobol attract nature lovers, and the river itself remains an important element of the local landscape. The river is not directly visible on the webcam, but it is the Tobol that has shaped the lush green grassy area that occupies the foreground of the broadcast.
What You Can See on the Camera
The online camera in Petelino is positioned to capture the road intersection — the central point of village life. In the foreground is a green grassy area with an asphalt road forming the intersection. In the center of the frame is a two-story residential house, yellow with a blue roof and a blue fence — perhaps the most noticeable object in the broadcast. In the background are other residential houses, coniferous and deciduous trees, and utility poles with electrical wires. A white van is parked on the right. The right side of the image is partially fogged, reducing visibility in that area — a feature of the camera optics or weather conditions. The live broadcast perfectly conveys the atmosphere of rural life: unhurried, at its own pace, with the sound of wind in the trees over the Tobol.
