Solidarity Square in Piotrków Trybunalski — live webcam traffic
Solidarity Square in Piotrków Trybunalski — a regional transport hub
Solidarity Square (Plac Solidarności) is not just another city intersection, but a key transport hub of the Łódź Voivodeship. The live camera broadcasts the Rondo Solidarności roundabout, where national roads No. 1, 12, and 74 intersect. This is where the zero kilometer of national road No. 1 is located, stretching from Gdańsk in the north to Cieszyn in the south of Poland. Transit traffic forms the main load on the interchange, which is why the webcam at Solidarity Square is a popular tool for assessing road conditions in real time.
Road conditions and traffic jams at Solidarity Square
The roundabout handles around 60–70 thousand vehicles per day, making it one of the busiest in the entire voivodeship. During peak hours — in the morning between 7:00 and 9:00, in the evening from 16:00 to 18:00 — congestion forms on the ring. Navigation services regularly record traffic jams at Rondo Solidarności, especially in the direction of exits onto DK1 and DK12. The webcam allows you to assess congestion in advance and choose an alternative route through neighboring streets.
How to get to Solidarity Square in Piotrków
Three key access arteries adjoin the ring: ul. Sikorskiego, ul. Sulejowska and ul. Dojazdowa. Sikorskiego Street leads to the historic city center, Sulejowska — to the shopping districts, and Dojazdowa provides access to the industrial zone. For transit traffic heading from north to south of Poland along DK1, Solidarity Square serves as the main distribution hub in Piotrków Trybunalski. The live camera shows all approaches to the ring, which is convenient for planning maneuvers.
Infrastructure and parking zones around the roundabout
There is no parking directly on the roundabout — it is exclusively a transit zone. However, within a radius of several hundred meters there are paid parking garages of shopping centers. The largest of them is the Galeria Piotrków parking lot along ul. Sulejowska, from which the ring can be reached on foot in 3–5 minutes. There are also street parking zones with payment via machines along adjacent streets. The broadcast shows cars parked along sidewalks, which helps assess space availability.
Roundabout modernization: what changed after reconstruction
In 2019–2020, Rondo Solidarności underwent a major reconstruction. Modernization of infrastructure, lighting and traffic organization helped partially relieve traffic flow. Updated markings, optimized exits and modern lighting increased the capacity of the ring. Nevertheless, during peak hours congestion persists — which is why the webcam at Solidarity Square remains a relevant traffic monitoring tool.
Weather conditions and visibility
Piotrków Trybunalski is located in a temperate climate zone with pronounced seasonality. In winter — from December to February — visibility on roads may decrease due to snowfall and fog typical of the Łódź Voivodeship. The live camera allows you to assess the road surface condition on the ring: presence of snow pack, chemical treatment, wet asphalt. In summer, good visibility provides a view of all approaches to Solidarity Square several hundred meters ahead.
What is visible on the camera
The webcam broadcasts a top-down view of Solidarity Square — a roundabout with a landscaped island in the center. The frame shows the intersection of roads with heavy vehicle traffic, parking areas with cars, residential apartment buildings in the background, commercial buildings (including a building with an orange-and-white facade on the right), trees and greenery, sidewalks, crosswalks, streetlights and traffic signs. The overall panorama of urban development with mixed architecture of Piotrków Trybunalski. The broadcast is in real time and allows you to monitor road conditions at one of the main transport hubs of the Łódź Voivodeship.
