General Karbushev Street is named after Hero of the Soviet Union, Lieutenant General of Engineering Troops Dmitry Mikhailovich Karbushev, born on October 26, 1880, in Omsk into a military family. His name became a symbol of courage and resilience — the general went through death camps but was not broken, remaining faithful to his oath until his last day.
The naming of the street and square in Volzhsky is a tribute to the memory of an outstanding military leader.
