Northern Bypass of Odintsovo in Nemchinovka — Online Traffic Webcam
The Northern Bypass of Odintsovo is one of the most significant toll highways in the western direction of the Moscow region. The camera overlooking the exit to the MKAD allows real-time assessment of the traffic load at this transportation hub, which handles tens of thousands of vehicles daily between the capital and the Minsk direction.
What is the Northern Bypass of Odintsovo
The Northern Bypass of Odintsovo is a Category I high-speed highway connecting the MKAD with Minsk Highway M1. The route passes through the territory of the Odintsovo urban district, crossing Nemchinovka, Romashkovo, and sections of the Pushkinsky Forest. The road is designed as a toll highway with four lanes of traffic — two in each direction. The length of the route is approximately 18.5–20 kilometers depending on the measurement section.
Technical Characteristics of the High-Speed Highway
The Northern Bypass belongs to Class 1A — a high-speed road. The design capacity is calculated for 40,000–60,000 vehicles per day, which is typical for four-lane highways of this class. Noise barriers and lighting masts are installed along the entire route, and in the Nemchinovka and Romashkovo areas, interchanges with convenient navigation for transit traffic have been organized. Nine pedestrian crossings provide safe crossing of the road for local residents.
Molodezhnaya Interchange — Key Junction to the MKAD
The connection to the MKAD is made via the Molodezhnaya transport interchange — a modern multi-level overpass structure. This is exactly the junction visible on the camera: here, traffic flows from the Northern Bypass merge into Moscow's ring road. The interchange is designed on a principle that eliminates the traditional "cloverleaf" — traffic flows are separated by levels, which significantly increases the capacity and safety of the junction.
Construction History: From Project to Launch
Development of the ring road scheme began back in 2007. Construction started in October 2010. The project was not without conflicts: in 2011, residents of Odintsovo and the company "Avtodor" had disputes over the route passing through the Pushkinsky Forest. Nevertheless, on November 26, 2013, the first section — from the Molodezhnaya interchange to the 33rd kilometer — was opened. Full commissioning took place in 2016, and the project cost amounted to 25.5 billion rubles.
Transportation Significance for the Moscow Region
The Northern Bypass of Odintsovo performs several critically important functions. First, it provides transit passage bypassing Moscow, relieving the MKAD and radial federal highways. Second, the route improves transport accessibility for Krasnogorsk, Northern and Southern Tushino. Third, the road connects the Kuntsevo district of Moscow with the Minsk Highway, creating an alternative route for freight and passenger transport heading in the western direction.
Infrastructure and Payment System
Travel on the Northern Bypass is toll-based. The route has toll plazas with several payment methods: "Glavnaya Doroga" transponder, cash, and bank cards. The minimum toll starts from 1 ruble when using a transponder. Since February 27, 2024, the exit from Mozhaysk Highway to the Northern Bypass has become toll-based. The section from the interchange with Pushkinskoye Highway to the MKAD is 8.4 kilometers and includes four interchanges in the Romashkovo and Nemchinovka areas.
What the Camera Shows
The camera is installed with a view of the exit from the Northern Bypass of Odintsovo to the MKAD in the Nemchinovka area. In the frame is the overpass section of the Molodezhnaya interchange, traffic flows changing lanes to exit onto Moscow's ring road. Also visible here is the road infrastructure: barriers, information displays, elements of the toll payment system. The online webcam allows drivers and logistics professionals to assess the current road situation before traveling in this direction.
