Ryazan — a city with a thousand-year history

By the end of the 19th century, Ryazan had become a major railway station, from which over 200,000 tons of cargo were shipped annually across the empire. The city's population at that time was about 46,000 people. Today, Ryazan is a modern metropolis that has preserved its historical identity.
