Where the village is located and what landscapes surround it

The village of Melezha is located on the bank of the Melezha River, making it a place with a picturesque shoreline. Literally 5 km southwest of the center of the settlement of Filippovskoye village and 24 km southwest of Kirzhach — this is how its location is described in reference sources. An interesting water body flows through the territory, which for a significant part of its course serves as a natural border between two regions: Moscow Oblast and Vladimir Oblast. This gives the local area a special geographical interest.

History of the settlement

The founding of the village is connected to the Stromynsky tract and dates back to the early 19th century. Interestingly, the population was formed from natives of neighboring villages who had trade dealings. On old maps, in particular on the map of A. I. Mende from the mid-19th century, the settlement is marked as "Alexandrovka (Melezha)"1. Organizational changes also occurred in the 20th century: from 1929 the village was the center of the Melezhsky Selsoviet of Kirzhachsky District, from 1940 it became part of the Filippovsky Selsoviet, and since 2005 it has been part of the Filippovskoye Rural Settlement. The history of the settlement is reflected in available reference books and encyclopedic sources.

Nature and pine forest

The nature in these parts is impressive. Pines grow in dense groves, creating a forest backdrop that lovers of silence and fresh air appreciate. The Melezha River plays an important role here as a picturesque waterway, and the banks are covered with forest vegetation. The river is a natural boundary between the Moscow region and Vladimir Oblast, and nearby is a pine forest — this is one of the characteristic natural combinations of this place.

What interesting things can be seen

Several memorable objects have been preserved in the village, among which stands out a chapel recorded in the register as object No. 104982. Nearby is a pine forest located by the river, making this corner attractive for walks. In the vicinity there are flowing reservoirs, near which are located recreation bases and dacha communities. This is a picturesque place that attracts those who value recreation combined with nature.

How to get there

A journey to Melezhi can be part of your trip through Vladimir Oblast. The distance from the village to Kirzhach is about 15 km, and the journey by car will take approximately 14 minutes. The A-108 highway passes nearby, the 150th kilometer of which is marked by a public transport stop called "Melezhi". Bus service connects this settlement with Moscow, the journey takes about 1 hour 50 minutes and costs from 268 rubles.
