The creation of a network of bicycle paths in Burgas is part of the municipality's policy to promote alternative and eco-friendly modes of transport, as a factor in creating a new urban culture. The bicycle lane connecting Burgas Seaside Park with the Sarafovo neighborhood was opened to traffic by the summer of 2019. Seaside Park: The Green Heart of the Promenade

The bike lane runs alongside Seaside Park, which itself is a monument of landscape gardening art. It was laid out in 1910 along the coastal strip of the city. Landscape designer Georgi Dukhtev planted the territory covering 600 hectares with exotic plants, laid out wide alleys, and created cozy corners for relaxation. Today, Seaside Park is considered one of the most beautiful parks in Bulgaria, where plants from all continents grow. From the promenade side, there is a view of Burgas Bay, which is the largest bay on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. Its scale is impressive: the maximum width is 41 km, and the maximum depth is 25 m. The northern point of Burgas Bay is the breakwater of the pier in Pomorie, and the southern point is Cape Akın. Thanks to its size, the bay creates a unique microclimate, and from the bike lane there are panoramic views of the vast water surface merging with the horizon.

Cultural Life and Landmarks of the Promenade

The Burgas promenade is not just a walking area, but a true cultural center of the city. On one of the alleys of Seaside Park stands a monument to Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, which emphasizes the historical ties between Bulgaria and Russian culture. Another recognizable symbol of the city is the Bridge — a pier that was built by city residents in 1936. In the late 1980s, the wooden structures were replaced with concrete, and the Bridge became one of the most romantic spots on the coast.

The park has become a traditional venue for annual music festivals — "Burgas and the Sea" and "Spirit of Burgas", as well as the sand sculpture festival. Since 2008, an annual sand sculpture festival has been held on the promenade, during which visitors can admire fanciful sculptures created by participants from different countries.
