Strezhevoy and Its Northern Character
Strezhevoy is a city often called the gateway to the Siberian taiga. Located on the bank of the right tributary of the Ob River, it lies 635–640 km northwest of Tomsk and is the northernmost city in Tomsk Oblast. The nearest river port, Koltogorsk, is just 10 km from the city, while the Nizhnevartovsk railway station is 80 km to the east, across a water crossing.
This city of about 42,000 people grew around the oil and gas industry but has retained the cozy atmosphere of a northern settlement. Siberian frosts reign in winter, while in summer you can observe the white nights — a natural phenomenon characteristic of these latitudes.
History of Microdistrict 2
Microdistrict 2 in Strezhevoy is one of the city's oldest residential areas. The building at 2nd Microdistrict, 210 was constructed in 1974. It is a five-story panel residential building with a total floor area of 693.3 sq m and a cadastral plot area of 2,597 sq m. In Microdistrict 2, the city saw its first buildings with shops on the ground floors — a new approach to residential block planning for Strezhevoy.

Seasonal Features: What Changes in the Courtyard
