Paese Serenu Webcam (Porto-Vecchio) — Live Port Broadcast

View of Porto-Vecchio Harbour from the Height of Paese Serenu Residence

This webcam online broadcasts a panorama of the Porto-Vecchio seaport from the territory of the Paese Serenu residence. The camera is installed on the southeastern coast of Corsica and shows a concrete embankment running along the shoreline of the bay. In the left part of the frame is the harbour with moored yachts and fishing boats. In the background rises a mountain range covered with typical Mediterranean vegetation of the island, with antennas on the peak. The water surface in the bay brightly reflects sunlight, creating a characteristic glow in the central part of the broadcast.

Geographical Location and Climate

Porto-Vecchio is located on the eastern coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the southern part of the island of Corsica. The city stands on the shore of the bay of the same name at the mouth of the Stabacciu river. This is one of the key resorts of the so-called "Corsican Riviera" — a stretch of coast with beaches separated by rocks jutting out to sea.

The climate here is typically Mediterranean: hot dry summers and mild winters. In summer, air temperatures often exceed 30°C, and the water in the bay warms up to 25°C. Thanks to this climate, the tourist season lasts from May to October. The real-time camera allows you to observe weather conditions at any time of the year — from stormy winter days to cloudless summer heat.

History of the Port City

Porto-Vecchio was founded in the mid-16th century by the Genoese as a trading port. The name translates as "Old Port" — in contrast to Bonifacio located to the south. For centuries, the city remained the most important transport hub of southeastern Corsica.

Today, Porto-Vecchio is the largest city in the southern part of the island with a population of about 10,000 people. The area of the commune is 168.65 km². The historic centre is located on a hill above the bay, while modern development descends to the embankment and port.

Paese Serenu Residence

The camera is installed on the territory of the Paese Serenu residence — a three-star resort complex located on the shore of the bay. The residence occupies a park area of about 10 hectares and is located approximately 2 kilometres from the historic centre and the old port.

The complex is positioned as an eco-friendly resort with a private beach, swimming pool, and terrace. The height of the camera provides a panoramic view of the entire bay waters and surrounding hills.

Port and Harbour of Porto-Vecchio

The port of Porto-Vecchio is both a working harbour for fishing vessels and a yacht port for tourists. During the high season, dozens of yachts and boats moor here. The embankment along the port is a popular place for walks: in the evening, both locals and tourists stroll here.

From the camera, you can see how the harbour changes depending on the time of day and season. In the morning, fishermen go out to sea, during the day the port fills with pleasure boats, and in the evening the yachts return to their moorings.

How to Get to the Broadcast Location

The Paese Serenu residence is located at: voie d'Arena - Marina di Fiori, 20137 Porto-Vecchio. The nearest airport — Figari Sud Corse Airport — is located approximately 25 kilometres to the south. The distance from Corsica's largest airport in Ajaccio is about 135 kilometres.

You can also reach Porto-Vecchio by ferry from Bonifacio (27 km) or by car along the eastern coast of the island. From the residence to the city centre is about 10 minutes by car or bus.

When to Watch the Broadcast

The camera operates around the clock, but the best time for observation is during the daytime when the bay waters and the mountain range in the background are clearly visible. The port is best lit from 10 am to 4 pm local time.

In winter, the broadcast can be particularly impressive during storms — waves crash against the embankment, and the sky over the mountains is overcast. In summer, you can observe the lively yacht life of the bay.
