Kellenhusen Pier in Germany — Live Webcam Online Stream
Resort on the Baltic Coast
The North German resort of Kellenhusen is situated on the Baltic Sea coast in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. This small town in the Ostholstein district has around 1,060 residents, but attracts tourists with its typical northern charm and peaceful atmosphere. Watching the local scenery via the live webcam is a great way to feel the breeze from the Ostsee without leaving home.
The 1872 Storm Surge and the Birth of the Dam
The history of Kellenhusen is inextricably linked to the struggle against the forces of water. In 1872, a catastrophic storm surge flooded the low-lying Klosterseeniederung area. Following this event, a dam was built to protect the territory, shaping the further development of the settlement and safeguarding residents from devastating floods.
The Promenade — The Most Beautiful on the Baltic
In 2003, the resort celebrated its centenary and received the prestigious title of the most beautiful beach promenade on the Baltic Sea. The promenade became the heart of the town, where vacationers and locals stroll, enjoying views of the waters.
Lichterseebrücke — The Glowing Pier
The main architectural symbol of the resort became the new pier (Seebrücke), built in 2006. In 2019, the pier received digital LED lighting: several thousand LED lamps create a unique light display on the pier. It is this structure that falls within the webcam's view, allowing you to watch strolls along the illuminated pier.
Family Vacation and Nature Trails
Kellenhusen is ideal for family vacations. The wide sandy beach and gentle slope into the water are safe for children. Along the coast, there are hiking trails such as the Beach Route Kellenhusen, allowing you to enjoy the nature of the Baltic coast and take great photos.
What You Can See on the Camera
The live webcam image shows a long pier extending into the sea. The wooden pier rests on numerous pile supports. In the central part of the pier, there is a small observation tower with a platform and railing, and nearby is a floating platform. On the right side of the pier, you can see a covered gazebo with distinctive arched roofs. People stroll along the pier, and small boats are visible in the distance on the water. The shoreline is visible on the horizon, the sky is overcast, and a light mist hovers over the water. The webcam in real time transmits all these details, allowing you to observe the life of the resort.
