🏙️ Anacapri Webcams Online — Watch Live Streaming Now
1 camerasAnacapri is the second town on Capri Island, located on the slopes of Monte Solaro, often called the "heart of the island." Unlike bustling Capri Town, here you'll find the atmosphere of an old Mediterranean village, where whitewashed houses climb steep slopes and narrow streets smell of lemon trees and sea salt. Anacapri webcams online allow you to see this corner of Italy in real time — from panoramas of the Gulf of Naples to the quiet courtyards of the old town.
Anacapri — A Balcony Over the Gulf of Naples
Anacapri sits at an altitude of approximately 300 meters above sea level, on the western slope of Monte Solaro. This place has always attracted travelers seeking solitude and authentic Italian life away from tourist crowds. There are no large hotels or noisy nightclubs here — only small guesthouses, family-run restaurants, and local artisan workshops. Narrow alleys are paved with stone, and between the houses bougainvillea bushes and orchards peek through. From the webcams in Anacapri, stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the opposite shore of the Amalfi Coast open up, where colorful houses of Positano cling to the cliffs.
The Blue Grotto — Glow of the Underwater World
The Blue Grotto, or Grotta Azzurra, is the main natural attraction of Capri Island and one of the most famous sea caves in the world. It is a cave that can only be entered by boat through a narrow arched opening about a meter high. Inside, the grotto amazes with its light: the water takes on an unreal electric hue, and objects underwater appear golden. The Blue Grotto is the largest cave on Capri Island, its length is 60 meters and its width is 30 meters. The glow of the water is explained by the cave's structure: two light sources — a narrow arched entrance and a large underwater opening, separated by a strip of rocks 1 to 2 meters high. There are many legends associated with this place — from stories about Roman emperors who bathed here to beliefs about spirits inhabiting the depths of the cave.
Villa San Michele — The Remarkable Story of Axel Munthe
On the very edge of a cliff, in an area of Anacapri called Capodimonte, stands one of the most unusual villas in the world — San Michele. Its creator, Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe, dreamed of a house on Capri ever since he first visited the island in his youth. He began construction of the villa at the age of 41, already a well-known physician in Sweden, Paris, and Rome. Munthe dedicated his entire life to this project: he completed construction at approximately 90 years of age, and a few years later completely lost his eyesight. The villa became the embodiment of his dream of a place where antiquity meets modernity and nature merges with architecture. The villa's gardens are adorned with artifacts and works of art from Ancient Egypt and classical antiquity, as well as ruins of Roman baths of Emperor Tiberius. From the terraces of San Michele, a panorama of the Gulf of Naples, Sorrento, and Vesuvius opens up — one of the most photographed views on the island.
Monte Solaro — The Roof of Capri Island
Monte Solaro mountain dominates the entire island and is its highest point. Its height is 589 meters above sea level, and from the summit in clear weather you can see not only both towns of Capri, but also the entire Amalfi Coast, the island of Ischia, and even the mountains of the Apennine range. You can reach the summit on foot along a scenic trail or take the chairlift. The chairlift ride takes 12 minutes from Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri, and throughout the ride passengers enjoy open views of the sea and cliffs. At the summit stands a small chapel and a monument to Russian artist Ivan Aivazovsky, who visited Capri many times. In the past, these slopes had strategic importance: in the 9th century, the Dukes of Amalfi built a castle here, using construction material from nearby Roman villas. Today only ruins remain of the castle, but the views are still breathtaking.
The Faraglioni Rocks — Symbol of Capri
Three majestic limestone rocks jutting out of the sea off the southern coast of Capri are perhaps the most recognizable symbol of the island. There is a legend about the "Arch of Love" associated with these rocks: it is believed that lovers who sail under the natural arch and kiss at that moment will be happy together for life. The height of the largest rock — Stromechino — reaches 109 meters. Between the rocks and the shore is a strait, through which boats and yachts constantly dart. On a clear day, from Anacapri webcams you can watch sunlight play on the white cliffs while the sea around takes on shades of turquoise and sapphire.
Punta Carena Lighthouse — Guardian of the Coast
At the very southern tip of Capri Island, on a rocky promontory, stands one of the oldest and most important lighthouses of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The Punta Carena Lighthouse was built in 1867 and still faithfully illuminates the way for sailors passing through the Gulf of Naples and the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is an octagonal tower located approximately 3 km southwest of Anacapri. The lighthouse is still operational today, its light visible from a distance of over 40 kilometers. Around the lighthouse is a small park where typical Mediterranean pines and agaves grow. This is a popular spot for sunset walks, when the sun sets over the sea, painting the water in golden and pink tones.
Piazza Vittoria — The Heart of Anacapri
The central square of Anacapri, Piazza Vittoria, is the starting point for many routes around the town and island. This is where the chairlift station to Monte Solaro is located. The square is surrounded by cafes and shops where you can buy local limoncello, ceramics, and handmade souvenirs. Near the square stands the Church of San Salvatore with a beautiful 19th-century mosaic floor. From Piazza Vittoria begins a pedestrian zone leading to Villa San Michele — one of the most scenic walking trails on the island. Webcams in this area show the everyday life of the town: tourists examining maps, locals hurrying about their business, and lazy cats dozing in the sun.
