Pier 60 serves as an important landmark for understanding the scale of the beach. From Frenchy's restaurant to the pier, it's a 10-15 minute walk along the water's edge.

Seasonal Differences: Summer and Winter at Clearwater Beach

The climate of Florida's west coast allows year-round beach visits, but there are noticeable differences between seasons. In summer (June–August), water temperatures reach 30–32°C, and the beach is at its most crowded. Jet skis, inflatable boats, and water activities are in full swing.

In winter (December–February), air temperatures rarely drop below 20°C, and the water cools to 18–22°C, but the beach remains lively. Jet skis are usually removed from the sand, and the number of umbrellas and loungers decreases, but beach walks and sunsets remain just as impressive. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times: fewer tourists, warm water, and a gentle breeze.

Clearwater Beach faces west, opening onto the Gulf of Mexico. This means the sunset happens right over the water — the sun dips toward the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange, pink, and violet. Thanks to the unobstructed horizon, sunsets here are considered among the best in Florida.
