Ivanteevka — a city with four centuries of history

Ivanteevka traces its history back to 1564, when the village of Vanteevo stood on the site of the modern city. The Palace of Culture was opened on April 16, 1975 in a landmark year for the city — simultaneously celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Dzerzhinsky Factory and the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The building was constructed in 1974 from reinforced concrete in the Soviet Constructivist style. The western facade is adorned with a mosaic portrait of V.I. Lenin — a characteristic element of monumental art from that era.

In 2017, the Palace of Culture "Yubileyny" became part of the L.N. Kekushev Center for Culture and Arts through a merger with the "Pervomaysky" Cultural and Leisure Center and the Musical Drama Theater. Today, it hosts clubs, studios, and creative groups for all ages.

Dzerzhinsky Street — the main artery

Dzerzhinsky Street is one of the central thoroughfares of Ivanteevka, named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky (1877–1926). Three main city landmarks that shape the architectural appearance of the center are located on this street.

During the reconstruction, old houses on Dzerzhinsky Street were demolished, and the territory was landscaped. Today it is a modern urban environment with pedestrian zones, greenery, and convenient infrastructure.

Pervomayskaya Street is part of the main transport artery that changes names: it starts as Ivanteevskoye Highway, then becomes Pervomayskaya Street, and further turns to Zarechnaya, Khlebozavodskaya, and Novoselki. This thoroughfare connects the city center with the outskirts and neighboring settlements.

The Ucha River and the city's geography

Ivanteevka is located on the banks of the Ucha River, which divides the city into two parts. The western part is the old one, situated on a plain, while the eastern part grew during the Soviet era and has more rugged terrain.

This division has left its mark on the development and layout of neighborhoods. Old Ivanteevka has preserved elements of historical planning, while the eastern districts are built up with typical Soviet-era apartment blocks.
