Port of Nordfjordeid in Norway — Online Webcam
Modern Cruise Hub in Western Norway
The Port of Nordfjordeid live camera offers a view of one of the region's most modern cruise ports. Nordfjordeid is located on the shore of Eidsfjorden — an arm of the Nordfjord, west of Lake Hornindalsvatnet. The Port of Nordfjordeid began operations in 2019, becoming an important stop for large cruise ships. The first cruise ship to arrive here was the AIDAperla. The port is equipped with a floating SeaWalk platform up to 250 meters long with a capacity of over 4,000 passengers per hour.
Climate and Weather Conditions
The live webcam shows the weather on the waterfront in real time. Nordfjordeid has an oceanic climate. Annual precipitation is around 2,100 mm, which is significantly more than in neighboring regions. The warmest month is July (average temperature 13.1 °C), the wettest is December, and the driest is May. The location inside the fjord protects the port from strong winds and storms.
Vikings and the Waterfront: Nearby Attractions
The Nordfjordeid webcam shows not only the pier but also the walking distance to main attractions. From the port, you can walk to the center of Nordfjordeid along the waterfront in about 10 minutes. The old street with wooden houses, shops, cafes, and the church are within a 20-minute walk from the pier. The main attraction is the Sagastad Viking Center, home to the 30-meter Myklebust ship, one of the largest Viking ships in the world. The center uses virtual reality technology, allowing visitors to experience the Viking Age.
Transportation Access
The nearest airport is Sandane (SDN). Nordfjordeid can also be reached by car from Bergen (about 172 km). Buses connect the city with neighboring towns, but schedules may be limited, so a car significantly simplifies access to attractions.
What the Camera Shows
The Port of Nordfjordeid live camera broadcasts a panorama of the concrete waterfront with port infrastructure: a pier with metal railings and a walkway. The fjord surface is calm, with clear reflections of mountains and buildings on the opposite shore. A yellow navigation buoy is visible in the water. On the opposite shore lies the town of Nordfjordeid with residential and industrial buildings, including brick warehouses along the waterfront. In the background are high mountains covered with coniferous forest. In the bottom right corner is a weather information widget. In the top left corner, the camera address and date/time of the shot are displayed.
