Batrovci Border Crossing in Serbia — Live Webcam Traffic
The Batrovci-Bajakovo border crossing is a key transport gateway between Croatia and Serbia, linking the European Union with the Balkan countries. Our live webcam broadcasts the multi-lane road leading directly to the checkpoint. This live traffic feed is of interest to both truck drivers and tourists planning a trip through the Balkans, as it allows you to assess the actual congestion of the access roads.
Strategic Importance of the E70 Corridor
This checkpoint holds the status of an international vehicle border crossing between Croatia and Serbia, providing transport links between EU countries and Serbia. The crossing is located on the A3/E70 highway — the main transport artery connecting the European Union and Serbia. It is a strategically important link, serving as the main gateway between the EU and Serbia, handling the primary freight and passenger flow between the European Union and Serbian territory.
History and the 2015 Migration Crisis
Throughout its history, the crossing has experienced various stages, but one of the most difficult periods was 2015. At that time, in 2015, during the migration crisis, Croatia closed freight traffic through the crossing, which was a serious blow to logistics. However, traffic was subsequently restored. At the peak of the migration crisis, this checkpoint proved to be the only operating freight border crossing, which underscored its indispensability for the region.
Infrastructure and Operating Regime
The facility operates in a 24/7 mode without breaks, which is critical for an uninterrupted supply chain. The crossing is the largest border checkpoint on the central highway between Croatia and Serbia, serving all categories of vehicles — from passenger cars to heavy trucks. Average waiting times vary: they are minimal at night, but during peak periods and the tourist season, they can increase significantly, reaching several hours.
Transport Arteries: From Zagreb to Belgrade
Geographically and logistically, the crossing serves as a bridge between two road networks. On the Croatian side, the crossing is located at the end of the A3 highway; on the Serbian side, it is at the beginning of the M1 highway and the European route E70. The checkpoint itself received its double name from the border villages: Batrovci (Serbia, Šid municipality, Srem District, Vojvodina) and Bajakovo (Croatia). On the Serbian side lies the village of Batrovci (population 320 according to the 2002 census), and on the Croatian side, the village of Bajakovo.
Alternative Routes in the Region
If traffic jams form on the main highway, drivers can use other checkpoints in the region. Alternative border crossings include: Šid – Tovarnik, Bogojevo – Erdut, Bezdan – Batina, Bačka Palanka – Ilok, Neštin – Ilok, Sot – Princovci. However, Batrovci-Bajakovo remains the main route for high-speed traffic between the two countries.
What the Camera Shows
The webcam is positioned to cover the multi-lane road in the area of the border crossing. The frame shows the paved road surface with clear white road markings, including directional arrows for distributing traffic flows. On the right are red and white dividing barriers, and on the left side of the frame, vehicles heading towards the border control point are visible. The camera provides a complete picture of the current congestion on the access roads and allows you to assess the road situation before crossing the border.
