The Passo Lanciano — Majelletta resort is known for its unique location. It is the closest ski resort to the Adriatic coast in Italy, famous for the "sci con vista sul mare" (skiing with a sea view) concept. On clear days, a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea opens from the summit. The lift to the summit (2141 m) is the highest ski lift in the Apennines, providing stunning views. The first archaeological finds in the vicinity of Pretoro (pre-Roman tombs in the Crocifisso locality) date back to the 8th-5th centuries BC, indicating the deep historical roots of this area.
