Sea View Yacht Club — A History of Sailing on the Isle of Wight

On the northeastern coast of the Isle of Wight, in the picturesque village of Seaview, lies one of the most famous yacht clubs on the south coast of England. Sea View Yacht Club was founded in 1893, and has since remained the center of sailing life in the region. The club is known for its traditions and two unique classes of yachts: Sea View One-Design and Sea View Mermaids, which have become true symbols of the local sailing culture.

In the early 20th century, the club experienced rapid growth. In 1900, the yacht club had 94 members, and in July of that year, the new Club House building was ceremoniously opened.
