Lock Haven — A City on the Susquehanna River

Lock Haven is located on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. The city was founded on November 4, 1833, when Jerry Church held a public auction to sell lots for the new community. By 1839, Lock Haven had become the county seat of Clinton County. Today the city holds the status of Susquehanna Greenway River Town and is part of the Pennsylvania Wilds and Lumber Heritage Region.

The city's historic center has preserved its 19th-century architecture. Three sites are listed on the National Register of Historic Places: Memorial Park Site, Heisey House, and Water Street.
