The name "Limbyakha" comes from the Nenets language: "Limbya-Yakha" translates as "eagle river". The microdistrict appeared in 1983 as part of the infrastructure for the builders of the Uren Power Station — the first permanent power plant in the permafrost zone. The initiative came from the residents of the district, who as early as 2019 put forward a proposal to commemorate the fallen soldiers.

The monument is a marble platform with a slab 4 meters high. It depicts a soldier, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class, and the inscriptions: "1941-1945" and "Eternal glory to the heroes who fell in battles for the freedom and independence of our Motherland". This place has become the center of memorial events — people come here to lay flowers on Victory Day and other commemorative dates.

Limbyakha Square is an example of how participatory budgeting transforms the urban environment. The improvement project included the creation of a Memory Garden and an alley, which were implemented on the initiative of the residents. In the center of the square stands a metal frame of a temporary stage with blue benches — this is where ceremonial events and holiday concerts are held.

On the left side there are wooden benches, street lamps, and flower beds. The flower pots contain frost-resistant flowers, which retain their beauty well into autumn thanks to the cold-hardiness of the seedlings. On the right side and at the top, temporary metal fences are installed, while in the background you can see trees, paved roads, and buildings of the microdistrict.

How to Get to Limbyakha Square

The square is located in the Limbyakha microdistrict — one of the residential areas of Novy Uren. You can get here by public transport: bus No. 13 runs along the route Korotchaevo — Limbyakha — Novy Uren. Bus No. 22A also passes through the microdistrict. The stop is called "Limbyakha — Prionerny Microdistrict" and is located at the address: Geroi Pozharnykh Street.

For those arriving by rail: the nearest Tikhy station is on the Tyumen — Novy Uren line. The distance from the station to Limbyakha is 8 km to the south, and from the station you need to transfer to a bus in Novy Uren.
