Half a century of history at Lithuania's oldest karting track

Plytinės Kartodromas holds the honorary title of Lithuania's oldest operating karting track — it began operations on April 28, 1967. Over more than half a century, the track has undergone many transformations but never ceased operations. This is the place where generations of Lithuanian racers took their first steps in motorsport.

In 2017, the kartodrom celebrated its 50th anniversary. By this date, a large-scale modernization was carried out — more powerful karts were added, infrastructure was updated, and the track was brought into compliance with modern requirements. The open racing track FUN2GO at Plytinės Kartodromas has been reconstructed in accordance with international requirements. The length of the main configuration is 720 meters. In the alternative configuration, the track is 680 meters long and includes 10 turns of varying steepness, making it interesting for both beginners and experienced drivers.

The average kart speed on this track is around 70 km/h. SODI GT4 karts of various modifications are available for races — 9AG and 13AG for adults, as well as 5.5AG for children. The track is divided by green lawns and equipped with red and white safety barriers.

The kartodrom is an open-air type facility — it is not afraid of rain and operates year-round, including the winter season. This makes it unique among Lithuanian kartodroms and allows competitions to be held in any weather conditions.

International competitions and championships

Plytinės Kartodromas is one of the most well-known open kartodroms in Lithuania and the center of national karting. Country championships, international competitions, and athlete trainings are held here. The main annual event is the Plytinės Kartodromo Čempionatas (PKČ), the Lithuanian karting championship, bringing together the best racers in the country.
