About Rybachye on the South Coast of Crimea

The settlement of Rybachye is located on the picturesque south of the Crimean Peninsula and is part of the Alushta City District. Hardworking residents have called this land Rybachye (Fisherman's) for centuries, but the history of the settlement begins from more ancient times. According to one version, the ancient name Tuak is associated with a jug used for feeding babies, reflecting the deep cultural roots of the region. The settlement was populated by Byzantine Greeks in the 8th century, and the famous Great Silk Road presumably passed through its territory. Today, about 1,500 people live here, preserving the cozy atmosphere of a resort settlement with democratic prices and welcoming people.

In the Alushta Mountain Forest Reserve, located nearby, you can visit the famous Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall, where any drop of water can fulfill a wish, and medieval grottos and underground streams create a fairy-tale atmosphere of the northernmost outpost of Mediterranean flora in the world.

Mount Kastel — a unique natural phenomenon

This mild subtropical climate is especially pleasant in the winter months, when the city is immersed in a winter fairy tale, and the promenade turns into a quiet atmospheric grove with burning lanterns reflecting in the calm water.
