Culture Park in Russkaya Polyana — live webcam online
Russkaya Polyana — a settlement with history
Russkaya Polyana is the administrative center of the Russko-Polyansky municipal district in Omsk Oblast. The settlement grew on virgin lands, and its fate is inextricably linked with the development of virgin lands in the 1950s. Wide straight streets with spacious lanes are a distinctive feature of the local layout: initially there were no buildings between the streets, and this feature has survived to this daythe streets of Russkaya Polyana were wide, straight and long, with wide lanes without buildings. Lenin Street is the central thoroughfare of the settlement, where the main public life is concentrated.
Culture and Recreation Park: the heart of the settlement
The MBUK "Russko-Polyansky Culture and Recreation Park" was opened in 1951 and became one of the few full-fledged culture parks in district centers of Omsk Oblast. This is a place of attraction for residents: people walk with children here, relax on benches around the fountain, and spend weekends. The park is designed in the traditions of Soviet park architecture of the mid-20th century — with wide alleys, zoned spaces, and green plantings of deciduous and coniferous trees.
In the center of the park there is a rectangular fountain with stone masonry. In 2020, the fountain was renovated — the grand opening took place on June 28, 2020, and volunteers released 75 white doves into the sky in honor of the Victory anniversary. Around the fountain there are benches for rest and asphalt pedestrian paths, and street lights provide illumination in the dark.
Lenin Street and its landmarks
Lenin Street is the main artery of Russkaya Polyana, where the key facilities of the settlement are located. This is where the webcam is directed, allowing you to observe the life of the settlement in real time. The street has administrative buildings, cultural institutions, and monuments reflecting the history of these places.
Near the park on Lenin Street rises the Cathedral Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov and a memorial to the Russkopolyan warriors who died during the Great Patriotic War. These sites form the spiritual and historical appearance of the central part of the settlement.
"Tselina" Memorial — symbol of the virgin lands years
One of the most recognizable landmarks of Russkaya Polyana is the "Tselina" memorial, opened in 1979. The architect of the monument was V.V. Pushkaryov, and the sculptor was V.I. Kudryashov. The complex includes three steles: "Decree on the Development of Virgin Lands", "Arriving Virgin Land Workers", and "Welcoming the Virgin Lands"memorial steles.
The central element of the memorial is the DT-54 crawler tractor, which has become a true symbol of Russkaya Polyana. Poems are written about it, its image can be found everywhere, including the logo of the district newspaperthe tractor became the symbol of the settlement. The memorial has the status of a monument of monumental art and is part of the cultural heritage of Omsk Oblast.
Monuments and memorials on Lenin Street
In addition to the "Tselina" memorial, several other significant monuments are installed on Lenin Street. In the culture park itself there is a Lenin monument — a classic example of Soviet monumental architecture, organically integrated into the park landscape. Nearby is the obelisk to fellow countrymen warriors who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, erected in 1951. This obelisk has the status of a historical monument of regional significance.
Together, these monuments create a unique memorial complex on Lenin Street, telling about the main milestones of the settlement's history — from the war years to the virgin lands era.
Architecture and appearance of Russkaya Polyana
The architectural appearance of Russkaya Polyana is typical of settlements built during the virgin lands development period. Lenin Street is mainly lined with multi-story residential buildings, among which a building with an external staircase stands out — it is clearly visible from the culture park camera. This development reflects the mass housing construction of the 1950s–1970s, when the settlement was actively developing.
The culture and recreation park serves as a green buffer between the residential development and the public center. Coniferous and deciduous trees planted around the perimeter create a cozy atmosphere and protect from dust and noise from the street. Asphalt paths, street lights, and benches make the park comfortable for daily walks.
