Camping Slatina in Martinšćica — online webcam
Camping Slatina — Your View of the Adriatic
The online camera at Camping Slatina reveals a panorama of one of the most picturesque corners of the island of Cres. A pebble beach, turquoise water of a sheltered bay, a wooden pier, and boats along the shore — all of this unfolds before the viewer in real time. The camera is positioned to capture the coastal area with a view of the hilly peninsula covered in dense Mediterranean forest. This is not just a live stream — it is a window into the atmosphere of the Croatian coast, where the light changes every day but the landscape remains invariably beautiful.
Slatina Beach: Pebble Shore and Turquoise Water
The central focus of the broadcast is the Slatina pebble beach stretching approximately 1.2 km. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Cres and neighboring Lošinj. The right side of the beach is designated as a naturist zone, making the coastline convenient for different categories of visitors. The water near the shore is so clear that the rocky bottom is distinctly visible with the characteristic shades of this part of the Adriatic — from light sandy to dark grey. The turquoise color of the bay's water is due to the fine pebbles on the bottom and the absence of silty deposits. The beach is long and narrow, sheltered on both sides by hilly capes, which creates calm waters here even in moderate winds.
Camping Infrastructure and Amenities
The camera covers the area where all the necessary infrastructure for a full-fledged holiday is concentrated. The beach has restaurants, sports and entertainment facilities, shower cabins, and changing rooms. For water sports enthusiasts, boat and kayak rentals, a dive center, and aqua aerobics classes several times a week are available. Camping Slatina itself is a well-equipped site with around 110 pitches, 400 tent sites, and 30 new mobile homes. Almost every pitch offers a sea view — one of the key advantages of this location.
Two Bays: Slatina and Tiha
The campground stretches along two pebble bays — Slatina and Tiha. Tiha Bay offers rental mooring pontoons, attracting yachtsmen and motorboat owners. This is where the camera captures anchored vessels and motorboats moored along the shore. The wooden pier visible on the left side of the frame serves both for passenger boarding and for mooring small craft. The sheltered waters of the bay make it safe even for small yachts during sudden gusts of wind — a common occurrence in the Kvarner Bay.
Martinšćica — A Quiet Village on the West Coast
Camping Slatina is located 1 km from the village of Martinšćica — the only resort on the west coast of Cres with a larger hotel infrastructure. It is a tiny settlement: the population is just 103 people (2021). Martinšćica is administratively part of the town of Cres and lies in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The village's main attraction is the Franciscan monastery with the Church of St. Jerome, founded in the early 16th century by the Sforza family. Above Martinšćica, at a higher elevation, lies an abandoned village partially restored by twin sisters Nataša and Ingrid Stanković in the style of minimalist holiday homes — another place worth visiting if you find yourself on Cres.
The Island of Cres and Kvarner Bay
The island of Cres is located in Kvarner Bay — one of the largest bays of the Adriatic Sea. Martinšćica sits on the western slopes of the island, which provides a special microclimate here: less rainfall than on the eastern coast and milder winters. The distance from Slatina Beach to Rijeka is 57 km. You can reach the campground by ferry from Rijeka or Pula to the island of Cres, then by car or bus to Martinšćica. Kvarner Bay is famous for its deep turquoise waters and sheltered position from the open sea — which is why the water off Slatina's shores is so calm and clear.
What's Visible on Camera
The Camping Slatina online camera broadcasts a panoramic view of the coastal area in real time. In the frame — a pebble beach in the foreground, behind it the turquoise waters of a sheltered bay with anchored vessels and motorboats moored along the shore. On the left, a wooden pier is visible, used for passenger boarding and mooring small craft. The water near the shore is crystal clear — the rocky bottom is distinctly visible. In the background rises a hilly peninsula covered in dense Mediterranean forest — a typical landscape of the island of Cres. A cloudy sky and calm marine waters complete the picture. The camera operates in live-stream mode, allowing you to observe changes in weather, water levels, and beach activity at any time of day.
