Tannenalm in Stummerberg — Online Webcam
Panoramic View from 1,040 Meters Above Sea Level
This live webcam streams a view from the mountain hotel Tannenalm, located in the Austrian village of Stummerberg. The panoramic vantage point reveals a classic Tyrolean alpine landscape: snow-capped mountain peaks on the horizon, an emerald mountain lake at the foot of the slopes, and wooden farmhouses scattered across green hills. The camera is installed at an altitude of 1,040 meters above sea level, providing an impressive perspective over the entire valley.
The live broadcast allows you to observe the changing times of day in the mountains — from morning mist hovering over the lake to evening light painting the snow-capped peaks in pink hues. This is one of those locations where an online camera conveys the true atmosphere of the Austrian Alps without the need for physical presence.
Zillertal Valley — The Best Ski Region in Tyrol
Stummerberg lies in the heart of the Zillertal Valley — the largest valley in Tyrol, home to 25 villages and 4 main ski areas. In 2009, the German magazine SkiMagazin recognized Zillertal as the best ski resort in Tyrol, and since then the region's infrastructure has only improved.
From the terrace of Tannenalm, the view spans from the Rofan mountain range to the Hintertux Glacier — a unique site that is Austria's only year-round ski resort. This means that even in the height of summer, skiers can be found on the glacier, and the camera captures the contrast between the green slopes and the white strip of the glacier in the distance.
Tannenalm Hotel — A Mountain Retreat with History
Alpengasthof Tannenalm is a 4-star mountain hotel that welcomes guests on the eastern slope of Mount Stummerberg. A mountain road approximately 6 km long winds in serpentines through coniferous forests and alpine meadows to reach it.
In winter, a free ski shuttle operates for hotel guests, delivering them to the lifts of the Hochzillertal-Hochfügen resort in just 10 minutes. This convenience is one of the advantages of Tannenalm's location: you can enjoy the tranquility of a mountain village without giving up access to major ski slopes.
Stummerberg — The Sunny Balcony of Zillertal
The village of Stummerberg is part of the Erste Ferienregion im Zillertal — the First Tourist Region of Zillertal. It is situated on the slopes above the town of Stumm, on the banks of the Mürzenbach stream, and is renowned for sunlight lasting until late evening — a rarity for narrow alpine valleys where mountain shadows fall early.
This feature makes Stummerberg attractive for those who want to extend their daylight hours — whether for an evening stroll or watching the sunset from a terrace. The online camera captures this characteristic: in the evening hours, the slopes are still bathed in sunlight while the valley floor is already in shadow.
Seasonal Transformations of the Alpine Landscape
One of the main advantages of the Tannenalm webcam is the opportunity to observe the changing seasons in the mountains. In winter, the landscape transforms into a classic postcard scene: snow-covered roofs of farmhouses, white snowfields contrasting with the dark green of coniferous forests. During this time of year, skiers descending toward the village and cars with chains on their wheels heading up to the hotel can be seen in the foreground.
In summer, the picture changes beyond recognition: green hills are carpeted with alpine flowers, the mountain lake turns a vivid turquoise from meltwater, and wooden huts are buried in blooms. Hikers replace skiers — trails of varying difficulty wind around Tannenalm, including the ascent to the Restkogel hut, popular among hikers.
How to Get to Tannenalm
Stummerberg is located in the federal state of Tyrol, approximately 40 km east of Innsbruck. You can reach it by car via the A12 motorway (exit Zillertal), then via the B169 federal road through Schwaz to the turnoff for Stummerberg. The final 6 kilometers are a mountain road with several serpentines leading directly to the hotel.
For those traveling by public transport, there is a bus service from the Schwaz or Jenbach railway stations. In winter, the schedule is coordinated with ski buses, making the journey convenient even without a personal car.
What You Can See on the Camera
The camera overlooking Tannenalm Hotel broadcasts a panoramic alpine landscape in real time. At the center of the composition is a mountain lake with characteristic blue water, along whose banks wooden farmhouses and huts are situated. In the background rise the snow-capped peaks of the Rofan mountain range, covered with snow for most of the year.
The foreground features green grassy hills with wooden structures scattered across them — typical development of a Tyrolean mountain village. In the distance, dense coniferous forests can be seen covering the mountain slopes up to an altitude of about 1,800 meters, above which begins the treeless alpine zone. Depending on the season, the landscape changes from fully snow-covered in winter to bright green in summer, but the grandeur of the mountains remains unchanged.
