Vostok Tower, Moscow City — online webcam with city view
Moscow City: a bird's eye view
Moscow City is not just a business district, but a symbol of modern Moscow, the capital's vertical horizon that changes the perception of the metropolis's scale. The international business center began to take shape in the early 2000s on Presnenskaya Embankment, and today its silhouette dominates the city's panorama in the west of the Central Administrative District. The webcam installed on the 87th floor of Vostok Tower allows you to see this part of Moscow from a height inaccessible to the ordinary observer.
Vostok Tower: architecture and history
The Federation complex, of which Vostok Tower is a part, became one of the most ambitious construction projects in Europe. Construction began in 2004, and from the very start the project attracted attention with its scale. The concept was authored by Russian architect Sergey Choban and German specialist Peter Schwegger — their collaboration gave the building a recognizable silhouette with an upward-spiraling composition.
The global financial crisis of 2008–2009 made its mark: work was suspended for several years. It resumed in August 2011, and from that point on the construction proceeded at an accelerated pace. On November 25, 2014, the top of the tower under construction reached 351 meters, making it the tallest building in Russia and Europe. The monolithic frame was completed on December 9 of the same year, and the fully completed Vostok Tower, 374 meters tall, was commissioned on December 7, 2017.
Broadcast height: what the viewer sees
The Vostok Tower webcam is located on the 87th floor, at an altitude of over 300 meters — according to some sources, about 320 meters above ground level. From this vantage point, the view encompasses the capital's panorama in all four cardinal directions. This is the same height at which the famous PANORAMA360 observation deck operates on the 89th floor (327 meters), positioned as the highest observation deck in Europe.
The online camera allows you to appreciate the scale of Moscow without having to visit the observation deck. The viewer sees the same things as PANORAMA360 visitors: the bend of the Moskva River, the transport interchanges of Presnenskaya Embankment, construction sites of new Moscow City phases, and the endless urban development stretching to the horizon.
Geography of the view: from Presnya to the Kremlin
The tower is located at Presnenskaya Embankment, 12 — plot No. 13 within the MIBC. The nearest metro station is "Delovoy Tsentr" on line 4A. The distance to the Kremlin is about 4 kilometers, and in clear weather this panorama can be seen from the camera down to the finest details.
The Krasnaya Presnya district, which surrounds the business center, was historically an industrial zone and has today transformed into one of Moscow's most modern neighborhoods. From the height of the 87th floor, the area's transformation is particularly visible: glass facades of skyscrapers stand alongside construction sites where cranes continue to add floors to new complexes.
The business district in motion
Moscow City is not a frozen architectural ensemble, but a living organism. The camera captures how the landscape changes: some high-rise buildings are under construction, construction cranes and unfinished structures are constant elements of the frame. This makes the broadcast from Vostok Tower particularly interesting: the panorama can look different every month.
In the foreground are tall buildings with glass facades reflecting the sky and clouds. On the left is a green glass building, on the right a large office complex with mirrored surfaces. These architectural details create the feeling of being inside the business district, rather than just observing it.
The Moskva River and transport infrastructure
In the lower part of the frame is a body of water — a bend of the Moskva River, around which the district's road infrastructure has formed. Transport interchanges, highways, and railway tracks form a complex junction through which a continuous flow of vehicles moves. Buses, cars, and freight transport are visible on the roads — the pulse of the metropolis in real time.
The railway tracks running near the embankment are a reminder that Presnya was historically connected to the Moscow railway hub. Today it is part of a complex multimodal transport system providing access to the business center.
Urban environment and green spaces
In the background of the camera frame is urban development of various heights: Soviet-era residential buildings, modern residential complexes, and administrative buildings. Green spaces — park areas, trees along the streets — create a contrast with the concrete and glass landscape of the business center.
Particularly visible is the boundary between the historic development of Krasnaya Presnya and the ultra-modern Moscow City. This contrast is one of Moscow's characteristic features: medieval churches and skyscrapers in a single frame, centuries of history and a digital present.
Seasonal changes in the panorama
The broadcast from Vostok Tower changes depending on the time of year and day. In winter, the panorama takes on restrained tones: snow cover softens the silhouettes of buildings, the frozen surface of the Moskva River creates a mirror effect, and New Year's illumination transforms the business center into a light installation. In summer, the greenery of plantings enriches the color palette, and daytime activity at construction sites reaches its peak.
In the evening hours, the lights of the metropolis create an entirely different picture: thousands of windows, facade lighting, the movement of headlights on transport interchanges — night Moscow from a height of 300 meters looks like a light map on which the main thoroughfares and architectural landmarks can be distinguished.
What the camera shows
The online camera on the 87th floor of Vostok Tower broadcasts a panoramic view of Moscow's modern business district. In the center of the frame is the complex of high-rise buildings of Moscow City, some of which are under construction: construction cranes and unfinished structures are visible. In the foreground on the sides are buildings with glass facades — on the left a green glass building, on the right a large office complex with reflections.
In the lower part of the frame is a body of water — a bend of the Moskva River, surrounded by road infrastructure with transport interchanges, highways, and railway tracks. Vehicle movement is visible on the roads, including buses. In the background is urban development of various heights, including residential buildings, and green spaces. The panorama covers the area from Presnenskaya Embankment to the horizon, allowing you to appreciate the scale and dynamics of the metropolis in real time.
