Nova Gorica: a city born from political division

Nova Gorica is one of the youngest and most unusual cities in Slovenia. Its history began not in the Middle Ages, but in 1947, when after the signing of the Paris Peace Treaties, the territory of the old Austrian city of Gorizia passed to Italy. As part of the project, more than 200 events are planned: theatrical performances that will take place simultaneously on the stages of both countries, joint exhibitions and festivals. The key event will be the opening of a cross-border cultural center on Europe Square.
