The resort has a rich history dating back to the first third of the 20th century. Originally, West Base was called Blue Ridge and is one of the oldest ski resorts in the country. Its first year of operation was 1937, when the first rope tow appeared here. Not far from the present-day West Base, Big Pines Park opened back in 1924, featuring sledding, ice skating, and a lodge for Hollywood elites. And in 1947, the second chairlift in California was built at the resort, which became an important milestone in infrastructure development.

Geography and Location: San Gabriel Mountains

Mountain High is located in the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County, California. It is the closest winter resort to the metropolis, located just 90 minutes away by car.
