Nadvoitsy is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Karelia, located on the shore of Lake Voitskoye. This place is known for its unique name origin: it derives from the phrase "nad voyom" — the roar of the Voitsky Padun Waterfall on the Nizhny Vyg River can be heard for kilometers. The first mentions of the Nadvoitsky pogost date back to 1620, when these lands belonged to the Solovetsky Monastery. Nadvoitsy received urban-type settlement status in 1942.

Education in Nadvoitsy has a rich history. By Order No. 107 of the Ministry of Education dated August 17, 1962, a special boarding school No. 14 was opened in the settlement. That same year, builders completed a new school building with capacity for 920 students.

The school quickly gained popularity: by 1965, 1,453 students were studying there in three shifts. The Municipal Educational Institution Secondary School of Nadvoitsy was officially registered on August 29, 2000, and continues to operate as a municipal educational institution.
