Kamensk-Uralsky: a city with a three-century history
Kamensk-Uralsky is one of the oldest industrial centers of the Urals, founded in 1701 as the Kamensky State Ironworks. Today it is the third-largest city in Sverdlovsk Oblast with a population of over 160 thousand people (2025). Kadochnikov Street: named after a sapper hero
Kadochnikov Street is named after Ivan Petrovich Kadochnikov (July 19, 1911 — August 25, 1967) — guards warrant officer, Hero of the Soviet Union, sapper of the 86th Separate Guards Sapper Battalion. His feat during the Dnieper crossing in 1943 became an example of courage and professionalism: under enemy fire, Kadochnikov ensured the crossing of Soviet troops across the river.
After the war, Ivan Petrovich returned to Kamensk-Uralsky and worked as an electric welder at the Uralaluminstroy trust. The street connecting Sinarsky and Krasnogorsky districts from the city's main thoroughfare became a worthy memorial to his wartime heroism and post-war labor.

The intersection of Kadochnikov Street and Prospekt Pobedy is popularly known as "Koltso u Administratsii" (Ring by the Administration). The city is located 100 kilometers south of Yekaterinburg, making it an important transport hub in the south of the region. The federal highway M5 "Ural" passes through Kamensk, connecting central Russia with Siberia.

Kamensk-Uralsky is a major industrial center specializing in aluminum production, pipe products, and building materials. The city-forming enterprises are the Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgical Plant (KUMZ) and the Sinarsky Pipe Plant (STZ).
