Vangslia Ski Center in Oppdal — Live Webcam
Vangslia Ski Center: Resort Overview
Vangslia is one of the four mountain areas of Oppdal, the largest ski resort in Norway. This destination attracts skiers and snowboarders from across the country thanks to its reliable snow cover and variety of trails. If you're planning a trip or simply want to check the conditions on the slopes, the live webcam lets you see everything in real time — from the weather to the lift queues.
The resort is located in the Trøndelag region on the northern side of the village of Oppdal, providing convenient access for residents of Trondheim and other cities in central Norway. The village itself sits at an elevation of 585 meters above sea level, while the ski center stretches from 550 to 1,350 meters.
Vangslia Infrastructure
Vangslia is the most visited area of Oppdal Skisenter, known for being the first to open each season due to reliable snowfall. All the necessary infrastructure for comfortable skiing is in place here.
At the base of the slopes there is a spacious parking lot, a ski equipment shop, dining options, ticket offices, and a guest center on the second floor of Onkel Pudder. For beginners and young athletes, there is a dedicated children's slope with a conveyor lift, as well as a freestyle and snowboard zone.
Trails and Lifts
Oppdal Ski Center consists of four mountain areas: Vangslia, Hovden, Stølen, and Ådalen, connected by a unified network of lifts and trails. The total length of the resort's trails is 56 km, with an elevation difference of up to 790 meters.
Vangslia features 11 trails and a terrain park for freestyle and snowboarding. In total, the resort operates 16 lifts — chairlifts, T-bars, and conveyor lifts. This ensures quick ascents even on peak days.
Seasonality and Weather Conditions
Thanks to its location at elevations up to 1,350 meters, the skiing season at Vangslia lasts from November to May. The camera at an altitude of 1,300 meters broadcasts a live feed from the slopes, allowing you to assess current trail conditions and weather.
In summer, the resort transforms: instead of skiers, it welcomes hiking, cycling, and rock climbing enthusiasts. The mountain landscapes remain impressive any time of year.
